The Level 2/5 Fire Safety focuses on fire safety; the roles and responsibilities, reporting, precautions and emergency procedures, preparing the learner for work as a responsible person with regards to fire safety, such as a Fire Marshal.

Description

The Fire Safety in the Workplace course is a comprehensive 1-day training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their roles and responsibilities concerning fire safety in the workplace. The course covers essential topics such as fire prevention measures, emergency procedures, and reporting protocols, preparing learners to act as responsible individuals in maintaining a safe working environment.

Key areas of focus include identifying fire hazards, understanding fire safety legislation, proper use of fire extinguishers, and implementing workplace fire safety precautions. Participants will also learn how to respond effectively in fire emergencies, including evacuation planning and coordination.

By the end of the course, learners will be confident in their ability to recognize risks, take preventative actions, and manage fire safety procedures, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards and contributing to a safer working environment for all.

Who is it For?

This course is tailored for employees seeking to enhance their basic fire safety awareness and take on specific fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to assist their employer in managing fire risks effectively, including roles such as fire wardens, marshals, or stewards.

Certification Details

Upon successfully completing the course, participants will earn their choice of nationally recognized qualifications from the following:-

  • FAA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF)
  • Award in Fire Safety at SCQF Level 5 (SQCF)

The certificate does not expire, however refresher training is essential to responsible management and keeping up-to-date.

Content

  • The hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
  • How fire risk is controlled in the workplace
  • The role of the nominated fire warden
  • The principles and practice of fire safety management at work

Delivery

6 hours + breaks, typically delivered in one day in the classroom, on-site or online. If required this can be broken into 2 or 3 smaller sessions delivered over a maximum of 3 weeks.

Minimum Age: 16 years old (18 years old for online delivery)
